Coptic Position at Macquarie University, Sydney - Australia

The Department of Ancient History at Macquarie University is seeking an Associate Lecturer (Level A) in the field of Coptic language and History. The appointment will initially be made for a fixed term of 2 years. 

The appointee will teach the Coptic language at introductory and advanced level, together with the history and culture of Late Antique Egypt, both face to face, and in Macquarie's online postgraduate Coptic studies program. 

Teaching experience in the field is essential, and some experience in online teaching is highly desirable. Candidates must also an active research profile in the field, with an ongoing research plan. They should have completed, or be nearing completion of, a PhD.

Salary : from AUD$59,694 pa (Level A) including base salary $50,442 to $68,224 pa annual leave loading and 17% employers superannuation.
