University of Missouri - Kansas City - Visiting Assistant Professor, Late Antiquity and Ancient Mediterranean

The History Department at the University of Missouri - Kansas City invites applications for a nine-month Visiting Assistant Professor position for the 2010-2011 academic year. Research area of expertise in Late Antiquity or Ancient Mediterranean is preferred. The successful candidate will teach a survey course in World History, courses on Ancient Greece and Rome, core courses in the History undergraduate program, and upper-level courses in area of expertise. The teaching load is 3-3. A Ph.D. in History or Classics is preferred, although an ABD with teaching experience may be considered. Depending on funding, this position may be renewable for a second year or become a tenure-track position.

Qualifications : Ph.D. in History or Classics preferred. ABD candidates with exceptional teaching credentials may be considered.
