Binghamton University, SUNY - Visiting Assistant Professor, Jewish History


The Judaic Studies Department at Binghamton University, SUNY, invites applications for a one-year visiting professor position, starting in the fall of 2010, with the possibility of renewal. The committee will consider applicants specializing in Jewish history of the biblical, late antiquity, or medieval period. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting and should be comfortable teaching a range of subject material. 

Responsibilities include teaching a total of five undergraduate courses during the 2010-2011 academic year. Ph.D. is expected, although ABD candidates will be considered if the degree is conferred by August 2010. 

Each candidate should submit a letter of application, a list of three relevant course titles and descriptions, a current CV, and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to Jonathan Karp, Judaic Studies Department, Binghamton University, SUNY, Binghamton, NY 13902-6000.
