Call for Communications & Posters.
The 22nd International Congress of Byzantine Studies will be held in Sofia from 22-27 August. The Organizing Committee cordially invites you to participate in it with free communications or posters on a topic of your own choice which relates to the wider Congress theme Byzantium without Borders.
There is 15-minute time limit for the free communications, which will be grouped in thematic sessions of 8 to 10 participants each.
The posters will be displayed in one of the Congress halls and will be the focus of discussions.
If financially possible, the Organizing Committee intends to collect and publish the free communications abstracts, which should not exceed 1800 characters. In any case, the electronic versions of the presentation abstracts will be made available to the participants on the Congress website. Therefore we kindly request that those participating with free communications send us their resumes by March 1, 2011.
We would like to remind you that all participants need to register and pay their participation fee. There are a limited number of scholarships available for undergraduates and postgraduates, applications for which could be submitted by October 30, 2010.
Detailed information about the Congress organization, deadlines, registration forms and fees, scholarship eligibility requirements, publication requirements, as well as practical information on the accommodation and organized trips, could be found in English, French and Bulgarian on the dedicated website of the Congress at: www.22byzantinecongress.org.
